MSc course in Human-Centred Systems

This program provides students valuable advanced knowledge, skills that are valued within the industry, and new perspectives on design that will empower them to succeed in their careers centered on User Experience. This program is designed for those who share the notion of changing design technology so that it meets the needs of the user. This means useful, engaging, and easy to use interactive systems. This program is for those who interact with websites, mobile applications, or other interactive systems that are unnecessarily frustrating and want to change it.

The program itself helps students to become equipped with the most recent and relevant academic research, techniques, and theories surrounding human-centered systems like the user experience, human-computer interaction, and usability while encouraging them to think about design in new and different ways—essentially recognizing that there are many ways to design an interactive system the “right” way. Students will gain a great mix of theoretical and practical knowledge with the necessary skills with experience to bring to life an engaging user experience.

In order to be considered for admission, students must have an upper second class honors degree in any subject, a practical background in computer technologies. It is not necessary for the student to have programming experience or previous experience in user design or human-computer interaction. Students whose first language is not English must pass the IELTS with a minimum of 6.5. For those who take classes full time, they can expect to graduate in 12 to 16 months, while those who are part time can expect to graduate in 28 months.
