With the DOJ’s April 2024 Final Rule now in effect, state and local governments face binding deadlines to make their websites accessible. Larger entities serving 50,000 or more people must comply by April 24, 2026, which is just months away. Smaller entities have until April 26, 2027. The clock is ticking, and the consequences of non-compliance are significant: legal liability, federal funding risks, and most importantly, excluding residents who depend on accessible digital services.
